I was considering a thesis on the decision making process regarding whether you put a near empty container of milk in the fridge or in the rubbish.

How do we determine if there is enough left to add to coffee and create the perfect cup, or if the amount in the container is inadequate and just causes annoyance to the person that next takes the milk from the fridge?

To determine the residual amount is it best to shake the container, swirl the container or sight the contents of the container? What personality trait or disorder does this choice indicate?

Does it matter what type of milk it is? Does the green milk appear less when tested due to the lower fat content and therefore lower viscosity? In this case would rubbish collectors be valuable to the study as able to tell us if there is a greater percentage of certain milk labels with greater left over milk in their containers?

How does the distance from the fridge or rubbish influence the choice?

How many near empty milk containers are allowed in the Fridge before it becomes a health and safety issue?

Does the light really go off when the door is shut and if not does the light create heat that lowers the ambient temperature causing the milk levels to artificially lower?


I will be accepting abstracts, please keep word count about the size of a 250ml tetra pac. Cut off date can be checked against the darkening milk container hidden at the back of the Mt Eden Prison medical fridge.
